Cocoa Butter & Primrose

I strayed a bit on my last 2 posts because I was so excited about the new book cover and wanted to share. Now back to Carrier or Base Oils. Today I’d like to mention Cocoa Butter. It’s a well-known emollient famous as an ingredient of suntan lotions and not terribly expensive. Its only drawback is that it’s solid at room temperature and needs to be gently heated in order to combine it with other base oils.

The second base oil I want to mention is Evening Primrose. This makes a superior skin nourisher, fabulous for anti-aging. However, it needs refrigeration and is quite expensive. On the up side, if you’re handy at distillation, you can grow your own flower. It’s a cheerful yellow color and easy to grow.
